Providing technical sales, strategic marketing and business development support for Micro & Nanotechnologies. Vicki Clements has over two decades of senior management and strategic
planning experience within both the Life & Materials Science arenas.
As COO at Irvine Scientific, she led the company to a five-fold increase
in revenue growth, drove M&A activities, and increased staffing from
30 to over 100. As a founding member of OC Partners, she oversaw the successful
launch for over 5 new companies, and expanded the existing product offering
to a number of Fortune 50 clients. She has guided the strategic planning
process and developed viable business models for a network of emerging
technology companies.... including the creation of a strategic alliance
between diagnostic labs within the U.S., and the People's Republic of
China. Ms. Clements holds an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences
from the University of California, and an MBA with honors from the Peter
Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate School. She currently
teaches courses on Biomedical Device Marketing and Applied Nanotechnology
at UCI extension. Brian Harman has led customer service organizations for over 15 years. As one of the founders of Ariel Communications, Brian launched one of the first ISP's in Southern California. His operational experience spans international sales, new product marketing, and finance. Brian holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from U.C.L.A., and Keynes College, U.K., and he attended University of Denver Law School. TECHNICAL & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATIONS James Walker - President, JayWalker Technical Consulting, LLC has over
20 years of experience in the telecommunications and MEMS technology areas
with particular emphasis on optical MEMS. During a 16 year career in Bell
Labs Research, James was actively involved in research on high-speed CMOS
interconnects using optical input/output, and was integral to the development
of the Opto-Electronic VLSI technology now being used in telecommunications
optical back-planes. In 2000, Jim left Bell Labs to become Director of
Advanced Technologies at Tellium, Inc., where he was responsible for jointly
leading Tellium’s internal all-optical cross-connect fabric development
program. Jim holds more than 50 US US Patents, and has authored over 100
journal articles and conference papers in the areas of MEMS, optical telecom,
and opto-mechanical packaging. For more than 25 years, Jim Clements has helped drive fast-track commercialization over a broad array of emerging technology sectors, including biotech, M3 and materials science. While at ALCOA, Jim directed the commercial development team for a new nanomaterial, SorbPlus®, winning an R&D 100 Award as one of the year's best commercial innovations. Jim has extensive work experience with a technology portfolio that includes biotechnology, microfluidics, modeling & simulation software, and device engineering. He currently sits on the Industrial Advisory panel for the European Frontiers Initiative on Nanotechnology, and is a member of the Board of Directors of NanoSciences, Inc. and AMSE's Orange County - BioMedical Engineering Council. He holds degrees in both Chemistry and Biological Sciences from the University of California - Irvine, and an M.S. / M.B.A. in Strategic Technology Management from Pepperdine University.
